Changing the front page article

The front page of your ChurchInsight web site can contain an article which welcomes new visitors to the site. This article should contain a brief description of your church, including location, and links to key areas of your site that first-time visitors would be interested in such as, “about us”, “contact us”, “where/when we meet”. On your trial site this article, titled Welcome, appears at the top of the central column.

Modifying the Frontpage Article

The customisation of any content on the web site is done through the Web Office. Once you have entered the web office the front page article can be selected and edited as follows:

  • Click on the Welcome folder found within the Site Manager. The display in the Work Pane area to the right will change to display the Summary of the Welcome group.
  • Click on the Documents tab from the top of the Work Pane.
  • Click on the Welcome article found under published documents.
  • To change the text select the existing text and type your new content.
  • Remove any existing graphics by selecting them and clicking delete. To upload any new graphics click on the  icon from the formatting options found on the left-hand side (the content area needs to be selected before the formatting options become enabled).
  • Once your content is ready select Properties.
  • Enter the necessary details and Save.

Now return to the web site by selecting the Exit link from the top right corner of the web office. Your homepage article should have updated to reflect your changes.
