Backups

A Endis site rapidly becomes a vital source and archive of information about your organization.  We ensure that your data is stored safely across multiple locations to protect against loss or corruption.

We have designed our backup strategy to have multiple levels of redundancy, so no single component failure can compromise the availability of your data.  Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP) ensures that we are prepared in the event of any unexpected event to restore service - and the latest version of your information - as soon as possible.

Server Reliability

Our servers all have dual power supplies and Raid array disks - so a disk drive crash or a power supply failure will not cause the server to lose any data, and replacement components can be "hotswapped" without downtime.

Interserver Redundancy

Endis is hosted across 5 separate servers, and information is synchronised between the servers every 15 minutes.  So should a web server or database server fail, an alternate server can be reconfigured using the latest data.

Offsite Transfer

Our servers are hosted in a professional colocation environment in London Docklands, with 24/7 monitoring, security and multiple redundant power supplies.  However to ensure there is no single point of failure, Endis data is securely transferred to Endis' Cambridge servers every night.

Permanent Archive

The backup data received by the Cambridge servers is stored across multiple redundant disks for quick access, and older versions are archived to tape for permanent storage.
